Darkfever - Karen Marie Moning I have no earthly idea why I liked this book.. but I did. Generally, I dislike romance novels told in 1st person but after about the 50% mark, I realized this wasn't really going to be a romance. I suppose at some point it might have a HEA (in Book #5?) but it's much more suspense/urban fantasy than romance. So once I gave up on a neatly wrapped up story, I thoroughly enjoyed the ride of this first book.

The world building is great. I was happy I didn't have to slog through thick Irish accents. The male lead, Jericho, was intriguing. I would have preferred to hear some of his thoughts but, alas, the female lead, Mac, is the narrator. I wasn't overly thrilled with her at first but she grew on me by the end of the book.

I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series.
