I've Got Your Number

I've Got Your Number - Sophie Kinsella There is no logical explanation as to why I liked this book so much. The set-up is completely unbelievable and Poppy is a ditz. Yet I still found myself reading and by about chapter 3 I decided to quit fighting logic and just go with it. I'm so glad I did. The writing is fun, I liked the humor and loved all the texts between Poppy and Sam. The bits about office "send to all" emails really made me laugh.

I've never read anything by Sophie Kinsella and I thought this was going to be a mainstream romance but it is firmly in the chick-lit category with a "kisses only" romance that, while an important part of the book, is not center-stage.

I'm tempted to read more by this author but I think I will wait several months as I suspect her novels are somewhat formulaic (like Susan Elizabeth Phillips) and are best read with long intervals of time in between.
